Boxedge Music (BXM) is an independent label, a 3D animation studio and a tech company, founded in Florence in 2024 by Alessandro Bemporad (senior software engineer and electronic music producer) and Maddalena Grazzini (visual artist, expert in 3D animation).
A short history2015.
After nearly thirty years as a software engineer, Alessandro Bemporad adopts the stage name Boxedge and also begins producing electronic music, working with human singers. Maddalena Grazzini, known as PZ, handles Boxedge’s videos as a visual artist.
2019.
Boxedge ends every contract with the singers he had produced until then. Lunaria Payne and Serena Void are born: two cybernetic angels, synthetic voices conceived and programmed by Boxedge, who take the singers’ place.
2024.
Boxedge and PZ found Boxedge Music. Lunaria Payne and Serena Void take on bodies: PZ, now art director of the label, gives them human form through 3D animation and motion capture.
2026.
Boxedge begins developing a proprietary AI platform for the virtual singers. What it will do, we will reveal in due time. What it will not do is compose music: that remains entirely human.
The three souls of BXMThe first is music. Every track in the catalogue is personally composed or arranged by Boxedge. No generative AI is involved in the musical process.
The second is image. Under PZ’s direction, BXM is also a 3D visual production studio: the label’s two cybernetic angels have a body, a face, a way of moving.
The third is technology. Boxedge is a senior software engineer, and with the advent of Artificial Intelligence he holds a dual role in BXM, no longer only that of electronic music producer. In 2026 he begins the internal development of ARIA, a proprietary AI platform, destined to bring the two cybernetic angels to their definitive evolution.
The cybernetic angelsLunaria Payne is the past: she reinterprets 1980s post-punk in an electronic key.
Serena Void is the future: electro-R&B inspired by hard science fiction.
Both are emanations of Boxedge’s soul — his memories and his ambitions, given voice.
Electronic music producer and senior software engineer with a degree in Theoretical Philosophy.
Creates the music behind BXM’s musical projects: Lunaria Payne, Serena Void and Cryomancer.
Alessandro Bemporad is an electronic music producer and senior software engineer born and raised in Florence. He holds a degree in Theoretical Philosophy from the University of Florence, with expertise in ontology and epistemology.
His musical journey spans from the 1970s (Genesis, Deep Purple, Elton John) through punk, post-punk, and new wave in the 1980s, when he was also a singer and keyboardist in a band called “Boxedge.”
After a thirty-year career in IT, culminating in the role of Technical Manager at a multinational company, he returned to music production in 2015, and in 2019 conceived Lunaria Payne and Serena Void as a synthesis of programming, sound design, and artistic vision.
From 2019 to 2024, he also founded and worked at Artebinaria, developing Augmented Reality applications in Contemporary Art and Art History.
In 2024, he co-founded Boxedge Music with PZ, combining technological expertise, philosophical sensitivity, and passion for electronic music.
